Ecency Points can be used to PROMOTE your post which puts it into a queue and rotates through the feed so that more people see it.
Your can use Points for Boost+ and receive a 200 delegation from Ecency that will give you more voting power and RC
Points can be used to tip posts that you want to reward.
I can't think of any disadvantages. They are a free gift to you for using Ecency!
