HiveFest FoMo Is Over .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 245

in Ecency14 hours ago

In the spring, a few years ago, when I joined the "legacy chain", I bumped up on a photos and stories about the super-fantastic blockchain gathering that took place in Poland... After that, when I heard stories from my new friends on the chain about it, I said to myself that I will NOT miss the next one, for sure...

In the meantime, I met more friends, and the new "ChainFest" date and place was announced... Bangkok... Oh, man... It's too far away, it costs a lot of money, and nobody from my circle of friends wanted to go... I broke my promise, and i didn't go... Oh, boy... How I regret that I didn't go! Of course, it was a great event as usual... But, the next one... I will not miss that!!!

We split chain, and it was time for the first HiveFest! Everyone was excited, but C19 happened and we had to do it online! At least, I didn't miss that one... It was fun, but still, it's not the real deal... Unfortunately, the next year we had to do it similarly... Two years in a row without the "real" HiveFest!

Next stop, 2022, HiveFest Amsterdam! My first ever "offline" HiveFest! I went alone, without knowing almost anyone who was there... But slowly, one by one, I met some awesome people and made some strong connection with some of them... Thanks to that event, I met some of those people privately, in their homes, and at my place too! From online to offline friendship!

I had another "miss" in 2023, when the HiveFest was in Rosarito, Mexico... I was hesitating too much, and in the end, I didn't go... That whole year was a bit weird and strange, and for some reason, I didn't had that strong feeling of missing too much... Maybe, because almost none of my friends that I met before did make to that HF...

In 2024, HiveFest took place in Split... I had no excuses for this one, and no hesitation at all... I had a advantage of knowing the local language, so it was almost like being at home... Not sure if that one was better than Amsterdam, but you can't compare the "first love/experience" with anything... Somehow, we knew that the next one will be in Asia, as it was a turn to go there...

The HiveFest, Kuala Lumpur officially finished yesterday, with the closing dinner... I had a huge FOMO to go there, but in the end, I didn't make it... Too many moving parts and complications in the meantime, and also, not enough budget to do it... Yes, I did many smaller meetups (some of that not that small) in the meantime, but Asia was a great opportunity to meet some of the "Hive locals" from there... HiveFest isn't just presentations on the stage, it's much more than that... I learned that from Amsterdam, and especially from Split as I was on that stage... lol... It is about friends, it's about the community, it's about giving back a smile, a handshake, a hug to some of your friends that you met on the chain...

So, if you missed this one like me, you have plenty of time to prepare yourself for the next one... In the meantime, don't forget about other HIVE meetups around the world...
See you in Krakow, Poland in 3 weeks, Alicante, Spain in May 2026, hopefully Aachen, Germany in the Summer, somewhere in Serbia in July/August, and at the next HiveFest!

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 103 BEE tokens in total, 19 more than the week before!! Great result!!!

This week we got TWO new delegators!!! Welcome to the pool, @tengolotodo and @zekepickleman!! It's great to see you here! Also, we got new delegations from old members, as usual! Thanks, guys! Appreciate your support!

This POOL doesn't have fees, and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

From one HIVE game to another one... After giving away record number of the Rising Star game's STARBITS tokens last week, it's time to give away tokens from the biggest game in our ecosystem! So, some SPS tokens are coming in your way! Indexed in HIVE, the SPS token value went up in the recent months... Unfortunately, the image is a bit different if you check the USD price, but we are living in a strange period at the moment... Many things make no sense in the current market...

There will be distributed 240 SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

image.png

240 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 14.263%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 17.210%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

I must admit I did not see much about HiveFest in my feed this year. There used to contests for tickets and alot of Hype goign about. In fact I forgot it was on until I saw a comment of yours in Discord. I liked the online one and Mexico where the hiq boys were at. This one I saw a line up of the speakers but it must have been for some nonHive stuff, so I guess in my mind I tuned it out.
Having been to KL before it was not top of my list, I thought could have had in the Philippines as they are a huge group on Hive.
Anyway finally got my WORKERBEE staked lol!

Thanks Mick

There were contests for free tickets, but you are right, there was no buzz like before... I was expecting more talks, live shows, promotions, etc.
Regarding presentations (as that's the only one that I could see this time), I was pleasantly surprised with some of them... Especially people who were on stage for the first time...

where the hiq boys were at.

It's a pity that they aren't as active as they were before... I had some nice talks with @quekery in Graz and Hamburg!

Having been to KL before it was not top of my list, I thought could have had in the Philippines as they are a huge group on Hive.

The Philippines has a big HIVE userbase, and maybe it would be a perfect place for an HF... But, it wouldn't be that "shiny" as KL... 😃

Yes, I know that FOMO feeling... but sometimes plans clash and you have to give something up... maybe we should be a little more confident about all this, or afford more... but of course there's also the question of money, or rather cost...

You are right... As we are getting old, pardon, more experienced 😂, more plans are getting crashed for different reasons... I don't find myself anymore that sure when I book tickets in advance... Who knows what can happen...

When something is so far and very unattainable (both in terms of money and time), like HF in Malaysia, I didn't get FOMO. I knew it was impossible to go there.
However, last year in Split, there was a lot of FOMO 🙂

like HF in Malaysia, I didn't get FOMO. I knew it was impossible to go there.

Why was it impossible? Money-wise, or timewise, or something else... (you don't have to reply if you don't want...🙂 I'm just curious)... Personally, I had probably similar thoughts, and limited myself somewhere deep in my brain... but it wasn't impossible...

Didn’t make it either… but next time!!
Alicante, Aachen,… well meet soon!

Hopefully next time!
Until then, step by step... First one Poland, and we will see the next after that... I missed Aachen 2 times, can't afford another miss... 😂

See yoU!

I think it's fine to miss some meetups. HiveFest was something that I saw you enjoy last year, but there will be more opportunities in the future.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/STARBITStokens.

There will be more opportunities, that's for sure!
I hope I will not miss them... :)

Congratulations you have been manual curated and upvoted by @ecency

Thank you very much!
I hope you are recovering well... You have to be ready for the next Hive meetup! :)

time will tell :) but i'm looking forward to do some more offline networking again.

Yep, every destination will leave someone upset, who's in Asia found it good but for westerns not really 😅 it's a rotating wheel, next time will be good for someone elss

Yeah, there is no "one size fits all", for sure... Maybe somewhere in between Asia and Europe? :)

Well Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan might not be good picks 🤣

I can attend if it's in Pakistan. 😁

Thanks for your curation, @ewkaw! Appreciate it! 🙏

I understand that feeling of FOMO! HiveFest is not just an event; it is all about creating friendships and a sense of community.

Did you attend any in the past, and would you consider going to the next one if it's in Europe?

Thank you for the STARBITS! Welcome the to new delegators what a wise decision!

You are welcome! I hope we made a wise decision... hehehehe... Those who are here for a longer time have probably paid back their investment... For new ones, good luck!!

Thank you so much for your honest reflection on your HiveFest experience. It's so touching how you describe the feeling of "not wanting to miss out again," but also how each opportunity brings lessons, new acquaintances, and meaningful connections. Your passion for not missing out on the next edition is truly inspiring.

May each future edition of HiveFest become even more inclusive, accessible, and filled with spontaneous moments that make networking not just virtual but real: warm greetings, hugs, laughter with people we previously only knew through a screen. May this community grow stronger, and every participant, old and new, feel a sense of "missing out" if they don't attend, as the moments offered are truly special.

Once again, kudos to those of you who recognize the value of attendance, and we sincerely hope that you and many others can participate more frequently and with greater enthusiasm in the future.

Thanks for your words, but I have doubts that you wrote this comment on your own... If you are using AI tools to write comments for you, it will bring you no good on HIVE...
