Firstly, I have nothing to do with 3Speak and I just use the platform to post my videos... Mostly, because it's built on/for HIVE and I like to support Web3 initiatives... That's why even when they have issues, I try to post on LBRY and not YouTube... I'm aware of the problems that both platforms have, but it's important to support the effort of people whom I know...
I don't know how development goes there, and I can't share more info on that...
The biggest conference is definitely HiveFest (https://hivefe.st/), and it will take place next week in Kuala Lumpur... There is usually YT stream from the event, so you can check it out https://www.youtube.com/hivefest
HIVE is decentralized, which means that there is no "one person to serve everyone," and people go in different directions, which means that you can (and will) hit the wall with some of them... I did many times too... lol...
I wanted to understand if something is moving forward or if we're just wasting time.
It really depends on what your expectations of HIVE are... In the end, it is a social network and the most valuable part of it is people and the community... Not talking about devs or whales, but rather about regular peeps who care about each other...
But, I do agree that we need some fresh devs, who will think outside the box and create some useful stuff on HIVE...
Thanks for sharing and replying!
Yes, unfortunately, YouTube is the only valid platform with subtitling. It wouldn't take much to bring 3speak or others up to par or at an acceptable level (with decentralization).
Yes, there's Lbry, but it's not what it used to be. Users have also left, and it's having problems with the SEC.
So I don't think the system is optimal or has an acceptable level of attendance. It's excellent for creating a video archive, yes.
Expectations are long-term; meeting new people and, above all, new points of view is always useful for personal growth and emotional development. In fact, in just over a month, I've met different types of people, who have taught me something! By responding to their posts, as I'm doing with you, I've gained insights and reflections that have broadened the dialogue and my thinking about creating articles, since I create informative articles!
Being a curious person by nature, I was looking for content that focused more on the technical side and discussion. I wasn't familiar with the channel you gave me, which is certainly interesting for experiences, although I don't think it's useful for technical details.
I saved it anyway because I'm curious to watch the event next week as soon as it's uploaded. Maybe I'll have more ideas for new informative articles.
Thank you for your patience in responding. Let's hope things change quickly at Hive, especially with professionalism and a desire to get things done. Too many years have passed in stagnation, and if I noticed it in "a month," imagine the veterans.
Have a good day and good luck!
