Era un sábado por la mañana. Muy temprano. Cerca de las 8 de la mañana. Ese día se casaba mi primo y lo festejaba en una parrilla capilla cerca de Capilla del Señor, en el noroeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires. Ibamos a ir solamente mi papá y yo, ya que mi madre y mis hermanos no habían confirmado su presencia.
Por esta ausencia es que quedamos en llevar con nosotros a un amigo del novio que vivía cerca, pero nos llevamos una sorpresa. Mi mamá y mi hermano se estaban cambiando. Allí vino mi pregunta..., ¿ustedes, a dónde van?...
It was a Saturday morning. Very early. Around 8 a.m. That day my cousin was getting married and celebrating at a grill restaurant near Capilla del Señor, in the northwest of Buenos Aires province. Only my dad and I were going, since my mom and siblings hadn't confirmed their attendance.
Because of their absence, we had arranged to bring a friend of the groom who lived nearby, but we were in for a surprise. My mom and brother were getting ready. That's when I asked... "Where are you going?"
Al casamiento fue la respuesta de mi madre. 😱😱😱
¿Cómo es que no avisaron, mamaaaaaaaa?, fue mi respuesta. Ahora íbamos a ir 5 en el auto en un viaje de más de 2 horas y media. Por suerte entrabamos bien, apretaditos pero bien.
Lo cierto es que me encantó ver a mi mamá lista para el casamiento. Nadie de mi familia esperaba que fuera luego de la operación de cadera que tuvo hace muy poco tiempo. Ella super bella como siempre y elegante, acompañada por mi hermano y mi papá.
"We're going to the wedding!" was my mom's response. 😱😱😱
"How come you didn't tell me, Mom?" was my reply. Now there were going to be five of us in the car on a trip of more than two and a half hours. Luckily, we all fit, a little squeezed in, but fine.
The truth is, I loved seeing my mom ready for the wedding. Nobody in my family expected her to go after her recent hip surgery. She looked as beautiful and elegant as ever, accompanied by my brother and my dad.
Un viaje largo, super felices todos hablando y haciendo chistes. Hace mucho que no veía a mis padres tan felices juntos. Nunca esperé ver a mi madre con tacos altos de nuevo y nadie de mi familia tampoco. Fue un viaje precioso, al igual que el casamiento.
En próximas publicaciones les contaré más de este hermoso evento familiar y, por supuesto, lo hermosos que se vieron mis padres en dicha fiesta.

It was a long trip, and everyone was so happy, talking and joking. I hadn't seen my parents so happy together in ages. I never expected to see my mom in high heels again, and neither did anyone else in my family. It was a beautiful trip, just like the wedding.
In upcoming posts, I'll tell you more about this wonderful family event and, of course, how beautiful my parents looked at the party.
