So, this is not yet the Trade Test, but it is a step in the right direction. This week I was at Techniskills College to brush up on my Refrigeration skills and knowledge.
Above is me accessing a Freezer plant at the training college. The task here is to set a Pressure Stat unit to reach a setpoint, to see that the Superheat is correct and that the unit cycles on again and runs to temperature.
I managed to set this unit to 0C with a superheat of 6C and to cycle on at 2C. Which was really cool to accomplish!
I had also managed to sort out a Pump Down unit with a Solenoid and Thermostat.
In the meantime we had some books to go through and a lot of homework. The week ended with a Theory test about the Vapour-Compression cycle.
I managed an efficient 94% so I am glad to say that I am fairly competent.
Next week Monday to Wednesday I will complete the practical side of this course. In between I will try and practise some of my other tasks for the Trade Test coming up at the end of the month...
I am still really nervous...
Thanks for reading this post!
Cheers!

Awesome to obtain trade tests for skills required, strengthens the future with legal documentation with brushing up knowledge.
Well done!
Nice ! Does this make you SubZero from The Running Man ? 😆
!LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Smashing it. Is the class full of young apprentices or a mix of people getting there tickets.
A mix of people. There is at least two that I think are older than me and another guy came through that the tutor showed off to us, very proudly that this man got his Trade at age 56 and that is amazing and applaudable. So.... yeah... But the rest of the people are just there doing a refrigeration course. More younger than not.
