That is unfortunately the situation on Steem ... with time and consistency you could no doubt work your way in, but, there is no point in getting into a situation like that when the effort you put in here will benefit you much more. Now, do not have rose-colored glasses -- there are a few bad actors here too who tend to alienate newbies, but there is more opportunity here on Hive to find a way in spite of that.
