simply put, given the world we live in right now, people have proven that they couldn't care less about privacy. When I say "people", it's not the handful of ideal-chasers who are in it solely for the concept of Zcash or Monero, I mean the general public (hence, adoption). People raise Venezuela- they are in it to keep their money, to store their value- not for some far-flung idea that won't put money in their pockets- or even retain the money they had to begin with.
