Recently we saw two sudden dips in Bitcoin and one of it was yesterday. Both the times Bitcoin and altcoins dropped heavily. Both times my portfolio started bleeding like a freshly cut vein. Everything was in red. But i have been in crypto since 2013-14 and knew better than to liquidate all my portfolio. It's not the BTC, ETH, ADA, XMR, DCR that i am worried about because i know they will make their recovery (and also the fact that i am in them for the long term- HODL). In fact these are the coins that i even accumulate more during dips. It's the other alt-coins, shitcoins that i use for active trading. I had a lot of verge and because of their halving event i knew it would pump but yesterday it started bleeding. So did Beam, Cybermiles and some other.
Look at the Bart Simpson dip. and then some more dips at the end. All in the span of few days.
If you cannot handle these dips and start liquidating your portfolio as soon as you see red you are not cut out for this game. Yes bitcoin will drop a 1000$ in a matter of minutes and yes that will make most of your alts go down the same path. But BTC always comes back up. Sometimes corrections like these gives BTC enough momentum and it makes a crazy run it did when it reached its ATH.
Right now from yesterday almost all my alts are in green except BAND and our favourite BAT (but thats my fault because i bought some BAT during one of its local high). Yes the profits have decreased and i may need to adjust my portfolio a bit now but i am not in red now.
