Synthetic Bitcoin Halving
- Apparently people are using this new phrase to describe Michael Saylor’s strategy of buying half of all Bitcoin created each month, as Synthetic Bitcoin Halving …
- This is because only half of all Bitcoin produced each month is available for purchase to the general public.
- Interesting.
Michael Saylor's Strategy is "synthetically halving Bitcoin" by purchasing half or more of the newly minted supply from miners every single month, according to Adam Livingston, a BTC analyst and author of "The Bitcoin Age and The Great Harvest."

- Consider this post from X :
THIS IS A SYNTHETIC HALVING.
Not by protocol, but by acquisition.
It’s a simple equation now:
Real Bitcoin supply available = Newly mined coins - MSTR quarterly absorption.
If the miners produce 13,500 BTC/month and Strategy buys 5,000 of it?
The effective supply curve for the rest of the world is suddenly functioning like there’s another halving already happening.
And not every four years...
Every time Saylor pulls the trigger.
You may think this is crazy, but what has happened in the past six months?
Strategy has accumulated 379,800 in the past 182 days.
That's 2087 BTC per day... FAR outpacing the miners.

- Food for thought… neither good nor bad, it just is…

OK ... this is interesting and terrifying and wonderful all at the same time for those of us that have Bitcoin already ... but for those who don't ... there will be a grand opportunity if Strategy needs to sell at some point, but in the meantime, the scramble for Bitcoin could get wild!
Yes, I must admit I was scared a little bit, but there are still thousands of old and new bitcoin sold every day. I think we should all be able to get some, but the price will steadily rise.
I rather think there will still be peaks and valleys, but the valleys of the Himalayas are higher than those of the Alps ... I rather think we see that even in Bitcoin's lower years on average.
I agree, that that is a reasonable expectation
Now that I am here on Hive and Inleo, I will try to learn more about this cryptocurrency stuff.
It seems like communities focused on Bitcoin are a good place to start.
Do you have any suggestions for a learner?
Thanks
Just keep reading everything which looks interesting to you. Crypto is complicated, so only interest will propel you past the complexities.
Perhaps you could do a brief article on what the bitcoin halving is to put this article in context.
Thanks
Reasonable idea

I can say that Michael Saylor's strategy of buying half of all newly mined Bitcoin each month is called "Synthetic Bitcoin Halving." What will happen if he decides to sell his stake?
I suspect it will not cause a meltdown. People will wonder what he knows that they don;t, and if he drives down the price, many will buy it like it's on sale. Bitcoin is a longterm holding.
what if he sells all his bitcoin in a sudden move? what will happen?

I just happened to stumble upon this video...
I don't think Mike is aware of my version of the Reset...
Now this is one of the few things on this Bitcoin channel that I have heard of before.
:)
I know how to get "in" on the ground floor of U.S. Crypto Coinage... The one that makes the United States, the Crypto Capital of the World...
I am glad.
I am glad.
Very intersting and we all definitely need to keep an open mind about what assets will be valuable.
I'm not expecting Bitcoin to increase 100 Fold in Spending Power when the Reset happens, but I am expecting that to happen with our Common U.S. Coinage...

I have never heard of Synthetic Bitcoin Halving.
I enjoyed the explaination and I think it is impressive that someone can buy enough bitcoin to create such an effect. Mr. Saylors company will be very wealthy after the next bull run, or perhaps I should say much wealthier then it is now.
#thanks
I have always hear about bitcoin halving but quite the first time I am hearing about the synthetic bitcoin halving. Thank you so much for that powerful knowledge
