Counting joys

I've met so many people across the years of my life, countless individuals who all think and act in their own way based on their experiences, upbringing, circumstances and many other factors. That's how it is supposed to be - a person is an individual and that should be protected, freedom of thought, at all costs. But so many of those people I've met have been so very fond of tallying up their troubles, what they don't have, what they have missed out on and other such things.

How many have been as adept and willing and able to tally up, count and measure the joyful moments life holds?

I believe that should a person take the time to think about those joys, count them up, and feel those moments again and again it would lead to greater happiness and many more jots to come. Dwelling on the negative doesn't make the positive occur.

Well said @allover, we fail to count our blessings and happy moments in life but rather choose to obsess over our problems and what doesn't work for us.

Have you ever failed to tally up and embrace the joyful moments and dwelled too much about the negative? How did you make the change away from that?

I like the statement "Dwelling on the negative doesn't make the positive occur", yes this is true. There is no positive outcomes if you always think negative. All we need is to count our blessings even if it is small. Because true happiness come from appreciating small things and everything follows.

Have you ever found yourself dwelling on the negative things and if you did, how have you changed that to focus more on the positive?
