I have the impression — though I’m not entirely certain — that violence against women is somewhat lower today than it was five or ten years ago. Or perhaps it’s simply a matter of my immediate environment, where the topic comes up less often and is less frequently heard about. Still, the overall scale of violence remains deeply disturbing.

Where do you live? Last year 100 women were killed in Australia by their partners. One is two many.
I live in Central Europe and I rarely hear about things like this. Maybe it’s because I don’t really follow the topic closely. Or maybe I just don’t want to hear about it, because it stresses and frightens me. It also makes me sad to read about those hundred women in Australia.
