According to Okinawan centenarians, the search for meaning or purpose (Ikigay) is an indispensable key to a long and happy life. And it makes a lot of sense, who would want to live a long life if they do not have a purpose? The search for meaning in everything is a symptom of discernment, of reasoning, of differentiation of what we call the hive mind, so for me this need is a virtue.
