You made an excellent comparison between flowers and humans. Beauty and youth do not last forever, everything is temporary, but the soul, the inner self can, if we work for it, improve every day and become stronger and evolve.
The outside is ephemeral, the important thing is who you are inside, the qualities, like the rose that you recognise by its scent, its essence. We will be remembered for what we were and for the traces we leave in the world, not for our beauty. Thank you very much for this reflection!
