I agree with you. As I wrote:

Easter also meant the end of Lent. And for us children back then, it meant no sweets during Lent. If you occasionally received something, you would collect it in a large jar. And then finally, at Easter, the collected treats could finally be eaten.

The long wait for Easter made Easter even more special. And for me as an altar boy at the time, Easter after Holy Week was something special again
