I think this is a case where the court of public opinion likely would have been a better judge than handing out a penalty. Certainly not a suspension. Perhaps a fine like they get for other infractions. Then it's up to the public to decide if they want to continue to support them or not. It might lead to some deep soul searching or empowerment to be an even bigger bigot. Who knows.
One of the news sites ran a poll and the majority voted for a fine. I think that there could also be a club fine of some kind and perhaps the clubs themselves should apply a punishment if they choose.
What is crazy is that a dangerous tackle that could really hurt someone, would likely get less missed games.
Yeah, that is a good point. It's pretty crazy where we have ended up. I feel like people shouldn't be treated poorly, but the compass of outrage is really skewed.
