That's actually interesting because over here they can't do that. My wife has to do evaluations and write up reports and she always has to be careful to state that the child is merely showing symptoms of ADHD. Mainly because ADHD (whether you agree or not) is a medical diagnosis and since she is not a doctor, she can't make that declaration. On top of that, if the school were to make a suggestion like that, then the school would be responsible to pay for the meds. It's part of the law or something like that.

The schools can't prescribe, but they can "recommend" to the parents that their child has issues. And frankly, many of the children do have issues, but it isn't ADHD. Here, healthcare for kids is free. And for most people, very, very cheap. Well, taxes...

They can't diagnose here either. I mean they may know full well what it is, but as soon as they put it out there, the district is on the hook for all the bills.

What a strange system!
