Doing this type of thing is rewarding and even if it is not perfect the result can bring happiness and a sense of achievement and I think you will not have to wait until 2042 for it to begin rewarding you, but if you do have to wait that long I think your triumphant celebration will be epic.
If I have to wait that long, it might end up a grave after all :D
