As an uncle, I'm staying out of it! What I can tell you from the classroom with my first-hand experience is that students are seemingly less curious and more apprehensive to ask questions. It is a sad state of affairs, because as you rightly said, too many students are being included to the detriment of the most invested and caring students. All in the name of equality I guess. But we are lacking equity, not equality, and equality does not look the same for students of varied needs.
