While going through life, I have come to realize a few things—simple truths that only experience can teach. One of them is this: until you make yourself happy, nothing else truly works out. You can chase success, love, validation, or recognition, but if your soul is not at peace, everything you build will eventually crumble under the weight of dissatisfaction.
Another truth I’ve learned is that whatever it is you choose to do, do it properly, and do it consistently. Consistency may not bring instant results, but it shapes you into the kind of person who can handle the results when they finally come.
Believe me, the journey isn’t easy. It’s not all smooth paths and sunny skies—but it’s also not an impossible one. Every step, even the shaky ones, brings you closer to the version of yourself you’re meant to be.
For a long time, I struggled to get my writing career in order. I wanted to write stories that mattered, words that would connect with people, but somehow, nothing seemed to work. There were days I was completely swallowed by procrastination, drowning in my own excuses. Other times, the words simply refused to come—like they were hiding somewhere beyond my reach. And when they did show up, they didn’t make sense. They felt clumsy, disconnected, and uninspired.
Eventually, I gave up. I told myself maybe writing wasn’t for me after all. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t true. Writing wasn’t just something I did—it was part of who I was.
So recently, I decided to do something different.
First, I created a strict writing schedule and made a promise to myself to keep to it no matter what. Not when I felt like it. Not when inspiration struck. Every single day.
Second, I made peace with imperfection. I kept writing, even when the words weren’t adding up. I stopped waiting for perfection before I started. Instead, I wrote through the confusion, through the mess, through the uncertainty. I learned that sometimes, clarity only comes after the words are out, not before.
Third, I started seeking inspiration deliberately. I paid attention to what motivated me—the songs that moved me, the people who inspired me, the places that made my thoughts come alive. I surrounded myself with the kind of energy that breathed life into my creativity.
Slowly, things began to shift.
It didn’t happen overnight, but one day, I opened my dashboard and saw it—my book on GoodNovel had just been signed.
I stared at the screen for a long time, unable to stop smiling.
This was me—the same writer who, barely a year ago, struggled to put together a cohesive paragraph. The same girl who almost gave up on her dream because she thought she wasn’t good enough.
Now, I’m signing contracts.
That moment wasn’t just a victory; it was a reminder that growth doesn’t come from grand leaps, but from small, stubborn steps taken every single day—even when it feels like you’re going nowhere.
Whatever it is you do, find what works for you. Maybe it’s getting your nails done like me (yes, that really does work for me 😂), or maybe it’s going for a run, taking long walks, dancing, praying, reading, or just sitting quietly and letting your mind breathe.
Whatever it is, do it intentionally and do it consistently.
Your journey might not look like anyone else’s, and that’s okay. You don’t have to rush. You don’t have to compete. You just have to keep showing up—for your dream, for your passion, and most importantly, for yourself.
Because one day, you’ll look back at the version of you who almost gave up and whisper with pride,
“We made it.”
