There is a concept which I am sure you know well, which is "you are what you eat". The similar thing exists for one's creative diet. So not only do people ingest the creativity of others, it forms and does stuff to their creative centres in their brains.
That is why it is important to be concious and selective with your creative diet, just as a healthy calorific diet keeps you alive, moving, and thriving.
So many people do not respect their creative diet, and eat the equivalent of creative junk food - Marvel movies, DC movies, Funko vinyls, Labubus or whatever they are called...
Everyone's creative diet is different, as taste plays a good role (and there's nothing that tastes bad, just different tastes) - but there is content and creativity that is derivative, and there for the capitalism of it, without true artistic merit, intent or skill backing it.
