My marriage too went a little over budget with unnecessary expenses like the videographer charged 4Lac to cover the entire event, prewedding and other trending things. For me, it's a complete waste of money, but for everyone else involved, it was a significant event. I guess society and community do expect certain things and a level of show off at this point.
Imagine someone who got married and didn't call a loud DJ on the wedding day. The number of people asking and taunting can be overwhelming. In fact, that wedding can sometimes be taken as a reference for what not to do.
