Being attentive save time and your energy!
This morning, I learned that being attentive is great value and skills to have. I managed to make my manager frustrated as even though I did revisions, there were still missing details and the more we revise them together, the more we find faults. Until we hop on a call meeting and fix them right there. Still, we ended up overlooking some details that eventually only after 16 times revision, the documents were just right.
Eventually, it took us around 12 hours to fix 3 documents. You know, with more careful attention, I could have saved my energy and time.
This morning was like an exercise to use my magnifying glass when reviewing a document. It was intense as I have to care about the indentation, the style, the space and even the word.
I never really had to do all that because all I did was through markdown and even back in the day, working as a copywriter, none of that mattered. All that mattered was the content and how it looked good enough with the proper spelling and grammar that I used to subscribe to Grammarly Pro to help me. This was different from what I used to, and my brain was trying to adjust to something I used to do back in the day and even become Microsoft Office Pro. While I know just enough to survive and how to format a research paper, this was different ball game.
At least, in my case, I have never been this attentive. I don’t really care about that many small details, flaws or smallest thing that exist around me that much. While I do care about it sometimes, it’s something that is not quite natural in my life. To think that I have to constantly exercise it and do it is such a challenge to me.
I reflected on my blog and sometimes, I don’t really care about the tiniest details in my blog. I tend to hit publish without even editing them. In fact, sometimes I don’t really edit them and copy-paste them from my word document to the interface. When you do this long enough, it becomes automatic in your brain that this was the default.
Two months ago, when I started drafting the documents, I didn’t care enough about all those tiniest details. I was only doing what I was instructed by my Team Leader. But now that it’s under revision by the manager and the client, it has become intense and I felt shameful because this should be easy, but it was chaotic and all over the place.
Am I stupid?
While trying to cheer myself up, I told that there’s room for improvement rather than saying it out loud or tell myself how stupid I was.
I am not one to talk much because I like to listen but this time, I brace myself to ask and to question even call someone that is responsible for the data because this is important. I am no longer shy to ask for help as well to those who are responsible for the data.
But most importantly, today’s event taught me that it’s better to be more attentive to tiniest details and things around us because that could save our energy and our time. Think about how many hours I wasted just because I wasn’t so attentive and that cost me my energy as I had to do many revisions, I was not able to leave my seat until everything was done.
This can really be applied to everything in our life. In hindsight, it reminded me that there are many things in my life that I overlooked and should be the answer to my life’s problem or flaws.
Even in relationships too, sometimes I overlook the connection I made and forgot to nurture it. From today, I learned my lesson and even in some cases, being very attentive can save your life too.
Perhaps, my reflection today could serve as your reminder as well. As always, cheers and have a great day!

Formatting and other such tasks can get really boring quickly, especially if they're repetitive. You may already know this but templates are very useful if your work requires specific formatting. All the nitty-gritty details like font, font size, margins, headers, etc are already predefined, so your focus is mostly on content.
The thing is, I have not format my word to have such template. I learned my lesson though and now I am working to have such format so next time, I won't struggle or even deal with this BS anymore.
It can also gets tricky if you send a document to somebody else and their software changes your formatting. This is my least favourite part of writing reports, but I like their polished look afterwards. Good luck!

if a person can consistently look for improvement in themselves and do the right actions to move towards it their life will be much better. We also can't see everything all at once or take ever required action all at once so choosing the ones that will make the most difference can be a good start.
