If you were watching a movie of your life and you were the main character, would you be happy with how the story is going?

This morning, I got some sparkles. I think that if I were to watch a movie of my life and I as the main character, I wouldn't be really happy with how the story is going. And that realization, I think is important that as the main character in my own movie, I can't continue living like this.
In a plot, this is the inciting incident, where the character realizes something then does something, meets a setback, a growth, then it all settles down.
Our life is probably similar like that where it's like a progression of a movie. There's conflict, resolution, etc except sometimes it takes years to resolve the conflict or undergo the pain. Some people choose to unalive themselves for the ending, which is a bit tragic but some movies can also be like that. Then, there's zero to hero story which is a bit rare but it exist somehow.
Personally, if my life was a movie, I am still in the conflict phase going to find some resolution to it & I'd say with endless conflicts, I am starting to see the way out of it.
Here's what I recently learned from the "characters" I met in my life :
- Be delusional about your dream
- Stop chasing absolute perfection
- Fix as you go
- Never accept bad clients but also don't say no.
- Have some leverage
- Never believe that people has your best interest. Only you have the best interests for yourself.
- Be content with the idea that nobody is going to save your sinking boat. Find ways to survive whatever it takes.
- Protect your boundaries
- Never gossips about anyone, especially those at work.
- Be very diplomatic with your answers especially to strangers
- Know when to flaunt the wealth/not. Situational awareness and context matters.
- Though tempted, never show all your cards.
- Have the freedom to choose and options to not do stuff you dislike.

For the time being, I am simply enjoying the progression of the story but I certainly need to change things a little because in the end, I am not happy with the progression of how things are in my life. So, what about you? Are you happy with how your story is going?

My story is going through some dark chapters in my life, courtesy of that recent diagnosis of osteoporosis, especially at at time when I am financially-challenged.
Interesting idea! Over the winter break I reviewed the movie of my life, including I was very tired from things that had happened in the previous year. Overall, it was okay, this was to be a year of transition and I had modest plans and small things I wanted to put in place to allow me time to recover. I was jogging along, the boring bits of the movie where there are no car chases 😂.
As so often, you seem to write about what I'm thinking about, although I hadn't quite thought about it like a movie and that's a very good analogy. I have been thinking about starting something new for a long time, and doing lots of work towards it, but now I see, for the movie, it isn't quite the right time, because in another part of town, there's one of those dramatic conflicts developing that will play out over the next few weeks and months. So the next plot development will have to wait a little while until the drama is out of the way 😂. Thank you ❤️
I would probably make a lot of changes to the movie in the pre-production... 😂 I like some of those "learnings" you listed, but some of them look almost impossible to execute... :)
Like this one
I do have some ways to "politely" reject people I don't want to see anymore, but sometimes they just don't get it... 😂
That's my weakness... I meet people, we connect to a certain level that I feel comfortable, and drop all my cards "too early"... Which backfires when the "chemistry" is gone 😃
All in all, I know I did some good moves, but also some bad moves in my past... I would lean slightly to the positive side, but I would like to do so many more things... But I'm also aware that time is running out, especially for some "more challenging" things... 😃
Self-reflection is important... It hurts sometimes, but it's a good way to grow... Without it, there is no moving forward...
