Agreed. Maybe "social media likes to highlight" wasn't the best way to phrase it. What I meant was that social media creates an environment where early success is far more visible. Later-in-life success stories exist but they are less common in my circle social media feed and most people I talk to. It's easy to overlook them until you actually meet the late-bloomers in real life.
