Lying happens in many different places and in many different ways. When I was young, I lied to my parents to cover up some of my wrongdoings. But I realized the seriousness of lying because they saved me when I was caught in a mistake. People are more likely to lie to the community that they have things they don't and that they do things that are socially acceptable.
This happens a lot on Hive. People lie to gain an advantage, but it nearly always ends up with them getting caught. There is little consequence though for the faceless.
