There's a saying that a person with a dark past doesn't necessarily mean they don't have a bright future.
There are times, and often, most people find themselves trapped in situations that make them feel like saints without fault or sin, when someone, be it a friend or neighbor, is actually at the point where their flaws and shortcomings are becoming public knowledge.
Today, we have witnessed a wide variety of human lives. Some people initially lived peaceful lives without mental stress, but later lived in misery. Others initially lived lives of great hardship and deprivation, but later lived in blessings.
In this regard, I'm reminded of my father's advice about understanding life and thinking wisely. My father often advised me to think and act wisely and not to overestimate things, including judging someone whose flaws and shortcomings were about to become public knowledge.
My father often illustrated this by saying, "For example, if one day an acquaintance or neighbor is caught doing something bad, it's enough for you to just know about it and, if you can, advise them without hurting them. Never hate them, let alone belittle, insult, or badmouth them to others. If you behave like that just because you think you're good, you won't die before committing the same sin as the person you insulted and badmouthed."
Just because someone makes a mistake doesn't mean they've never done good. Conversely, just because someone does good doesn't mean they've never made mistakes.
As humans, we are prone to forgetfulness and error, so it's best not to blame or insult each other but to advise each other with compassion and truth.
