You know my friend, I believe that being average can sometimes become something very subjective... also because not in all places the average is the same, in my opinion.
For example, in Italy I believe that the average is much lower than in Finland, from all points of view; we could therefore say that if in your country you are average, in mine you are well above!
However, it is true that sometimes ignorance saves many problems and thoughts, but in addition to the proverb you quoted, it is also said that ignorance is the worst disease (but perhaps more than ignorance in this case these words refer to stupidity).
However, the idea of daily summer reflections is beautiful, in this period I am having difficulty writing every day, I really envy your constancy and perseverance!

Except in confidence! Italians are awesomely confident in so many things - Finns are generally not.
