I was never told that it was OK to fail because the moment I fail, I would be harshly judged, compared to and there never was a way out of that.

Hmm I wonder if this is an Asian mindset... I think we also have this "fear of failure" mindset here. I think what is important is how we react when we fail, do we give up, or do we learn lessons and pick ourselves up again. :)

I get the gist that it's high likely East Asian mindset. It's everywhere but specifically East Asian. My parents grew up and worked with ethnically east asians and they adopted their mindset and parenting. It's interesting for sure but I finally grew out of it, it's really OK to fail.
