RE: Hate the Way You Act

'Do as I say, not as I do' is a bloody AWFUL saying! What kind of lesson is that? I guess it was always delivered to me a bit humourously, ie when Dad did something he knew was hypocritical, as if to say 'yeah yeah, I know I'm an idiot, but don't you dare do that'. Once he got three speeding fines in a week driving down to go kiteboarding. When we saw the fine on his desk we CROWED with joy - what were all those lectures about speeding, Dad, when YOU have got caught no less than three times in a week?

I loved Ben Harper back in the day. Again, another Dad story - when I was travelling Australia and rang them from a post office, he waxed absolute lyrical about him, saying I ABSOLUTELY MUST listen to Oppression on the album Fight for Your Mind. He even sent me the tape. 1996.

I should have mentioned it was delivered humourously. The teacher was awesome and the first time I ever felt good at school. The kids sucked. Parents getting caught speeding is the best.

There are so many great tracks of theirs put there. I haven't generally been a fan of that kind of sound, but for whatever reason at the time, I really got into it. I will give some listens tomorrow. :)
