Deception

"Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion." - Jim Rohn

There's no doubt that there are conmen out there who are slick daddies when it comes to deceiving others. Thousands, to millions, are probably deceived every single day.

Yet, sadly, I believe there are billions of people, who are way better at deceiving themselves...

Delusion they call it, and if you affirm your delusions for long enough, as time passes by, even all that delusion will turn into the "truth" at some stage. It's practice after all, and as they say, practice makes perfect.

You keep lying to yourself for long enough, soon you will successfully woo yourself into believing, transforming those lies into the so-called "truth". Sadly, it'll all be in your little head, a part of your fantasy world only where whatever you say goes.

It's all downhill from there on, until life decides to b*tch slap the shit out of you; yet, will the slap of reality be enough to teach you a lesson?

Fake it till you make it? Or fake it and never make it?

Social media these days is filled with delusional people and their lies. Social media, quite unknowingly turned lying into the norm.

Some people have gone so deep into the rabbit hole, under a trance, that now there's not much they can do to regain their senses. No matter how much someone else tries to help and guide these people in grasping the truth, differentiating between facts and fiction, most of these people would rather stick to their delusions.

All men are now kings, women are queens, division, and isolation are praised, ego boosts have become essential, and kindness is seen as weakness.

Rented cars, watches, and luxury items are quite proudly shown off as our own. As if filters for the face weren't enough, now there are body morphing apps and additions too. We take AI-written content and claim it to be our own, which is a common scenario even here on Hive. AI is used to boost all of these categories, and it's mostly for negative reasons, instead of something positive.

So, if AI can now assist, what will stop it from completely replacing us one day?

It is one of my biggest fears, to one day see myself relying and succumbing to such antics. A day where I'm no longer original, real, a day where I don't own my creations and the flaws that come with them. A day when I decide to fake it, for the sake of clout and attention, even after knowing that it's wrong, and against what I once stood for. A day when I am satisfied with the bare minimum, while completely disregarding growth and progress; no matter how little development there may have been naturally.

Alas, it is the era of the liars, fakes, and the gutless; all hiding behind a screen and a keyboard...

Most things we see online now is fake and that’s why I hardly believe all of the things I see online. Some people always want to try them out and they end up being in a mess

It's all FUD.
