For instance, when a bird hears the slightest rustle in the grass or leaves, it quickly flies away. And if a deer senses a shift in the wind, it immediately prepares to run. Even the tiniest creature when threatened, knows exactly what to do... they tend to move, hide, or fight back.
Animals don't debate possibilities.
They don't replay the situations in their minds either. They simply respond, trusting the instincts built into them.
But in contrast, we humans, considered as “the most intelligent species”, are often frozen not by real threats, but by our own thoughts. When faced with challenges, we don’t always react like birds or deer or any other animals. Instead, we pause, hesitate… and sometimes never move at all.
We think of every possible outcome, even those that will never happen.. the what if's:
what if I fail?
what if something goes wrong?
what if this isn't the right choice?
what if people judge me?
Well, I don't look down those possibilities because I myself is an overthinker. That's the reason why I keep on striving to becoming the bravest version of me.
And while thinking can be good, too much thinking (overthinking) becomes a trap. It can paralyze actions, delay decisions, and magnify fears that don’t even exist yet.
In trying to avoid danger, we often create danger in our minds.
As for me, animals teach us a powerful truth that not every fear or challenges should be entertained... some should simply be avoided by moving forward.
And if there's something I'm taking into initial account, it would be to take action quickly when needed because movement prevents fear from building up.
Thus, try not to complicate simple things. The more you think, the bigger the problem becomes. Remember, danger isn’t always a stop sign, sometimes it’s a signal to adapt.
Animals remind us that fear is not meant to stop us, it is meant to protect us. But protecting yourself does not always mean staying still. Sometimes it means acting boldly.
It’s ironic to think that animals run from danger to survive, while humans often run away from (good) decisions because of overthinking.
However, the way I see it, what we fear is not always real danger. Sometimes, it’s the fear of discomfort. We always imagine the worst outcomes until the simple becomes impossible and the doable becomes frightening.

SOURCE
Eventually, the greatest threat is not the danger itself but the time and opportunities we lose while thinking too much. BECAUSE OVERTHINKING IS THE REAL PREDATOR.
And if animals don't overthink, so can we.
Life gets easier when we stop rehearsing every fear in our minds and start responding with clarity because sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop overthinking, trust your instincts, and take the next step even if it scares you.

I guess that is the disadvantage of being a rational being. Animals do not have to go through the stress of decision making. It is in many cases less threatening than real danger, but it is sometimes easier to deal with danger since our instinct speedily does the job when ever need be. Animals are probably lucky to live without the burden that comes along with being a rational being.
You have a point though.
