I hope you had a lovely birthday outing! I've never heard of Crescent Lake, even though I grew up in Washington. It looks beautiful.

Thank you! It was a really nice outing... and a chance to decompress.
Crescent Lake is on the Olympic Peninsula, within the Olympic National Park. About 11 miles of US Hwy 101 runs alongside the south shore and is — quite possibly — the most scenic piece of major highway in the US.
