There are all kind of people in the society and sometimes they will shock you or surprise you with their sarcastic reaction. One such incident recently happened to me. It took me by surprise, and made me to wonder if such events or news is ever relevant to me or not.

There was a local 'goon' who committed a crime and arrested. I am aware of his presence around the society but never bothered or even cared about knowing much about him or his activities. The recent crime news is a hot topic of discussion at every tea stall, but I am unaware of it. I am not aware about the recent development and when someone asked me if I knew about it or not, I shook my head in "NO". On which he took a weird sarcastic reaction.

This is the response from the person who knew me since I relocated to this place. The way he responded gave me an awful feeling. I am still wondering if my ignorance of the event is actually my dumbness? He is not close to the goon, but acting as it has caused so much uproar in the society. But i remain unaltered with such news. May be I never bothered about such news.
Our personal life involves navigating a complex, often overwhelming mix of emotional, physical, and situational challenges. These events may impact one's sense of self and well-being. The challenges range from profound losses and significant life transitions to daily, persistent hassles that test endurance and resilience. In spite of focusing on these personal matter, is it really matter to focus on matters which are not relevant to our well-being.
Being a local goon, he was supposed to carry out certain crime every other day. To me he is the bad boy of the society who is suppose to carry out illegal irrelevant task. Knowing each and every matter about him is not my business or area of interest as it completely irrelevant to me. But for some people, his arrest is a major event and area of huge concern. An individuals often referred to as "goons" or "gangsters" can attain positions of significant influence and power in the society. May people follow or support them for own selfish purpose. Those who like to link them with such individual, may feel sad and sorrow on the development but for someone who has nothing to do with his arrest or even presence in the society has no response. I am in the second category. But still people thinks everyone should be aware of every event happening in the society.
I am more of a person, who is more focused on news and events that matter most. Be it economy or politics or sports. These local events is not going to distract me, and neither I wanted to learn about them. I believe People should focus more on what is relevant to them because it cuts distractions, leading to better decision making, goal achievement, problem-solving, and overall progress. Training the brain to filter for important information, develop deep skills, and create meaning, preventing aimless busyness and wasted energy. By aligning our actions with personal values and goals, rather than getting lost in noise or others' priorities is more meaningful.
Irrelevant news often focuses on dramatic, personal details rather than systemic issues. And I have nothing to do with such irrelevant events. My acquaintances response does gave me awkward feeling. But getting back to normal is what matters most. These local news and incident is good for discussion over a cup of tea but not enough to carry them on your head for long. Just neglect them.

These days it is a fine line to be aware of the horrible things that are going on in the world but not allowing them to drag you down. A lot of people choose to keep their heads in the sand, but that can end up making them a bigger target.
that is such smart technique to avoid any nuisance in life but how important a goon could be in someone life...i never get close to such person

I try to do the same as you, to tune out so much news that doesn't benefit me. What happened to you happens in many places.
