It's a really lovely place, we were there for a few days and walked all over the place; such history and the food was divine as well; a lovely place for a honeymoon.
We were in Milan for the most part, and on the way to Venice. But a childhood friend happened to be in Verona and saw an update from us, and Verona is on the train line. It was an amazing bit of luck!
Luck for sure, and what a lovely setting in which to run into your friend. I really liked Verona and would love to go back for opera season, we were just a little early - they were setting it up. The sound checks emanating from the arena were lovely though.
