It's also not really a win if it makes you look bad in the eyes of others.

Especially if looking to get support from those others.

It's less and less of a big deal the older I get because even when you are right, you can still be wrong.

Maybe this is why many relationships break up after a few years, but if they make it through a decade or two, they last okay. Getting older might mean that the couple are more likely to not need to be right all the time.

I think my wife and I were a bit lucky that we met later in life like we did. It gives us a little less time together, but I also look back at how naive and immature I used to be and I don't think I could have been the person she needs back then. Which I think goes along with what you were saying there.

Yeah, it is interesting isn't it? The time when young might not have been as good quality as older, and might have led to breaking up sooner.
