Today I am going to tell you about a question that arose to me, as a result of the realization of these paintings, because many of the spectators who approached me curiously when I was making them told me that my paintings were very expressionist, while others affirmed that my paintings were Fauvist. So my question is; Is my painting style Expressionist or Fauvist?

Hoy les voy a relatar sobre una interrogante que me surgió, a raíz de la realización de estas pinturas, porque muchos de los espectadores que se acercaban curiosamente cuando las estaba realizando me decían que mis pinturas eran muy expresionistas, mientras que otros me afirmaban que mis pinturas eran Fauvistas. Así que mi pregunta es; ¿Mi estilo pictórico es Expresionista o Fauvista?
As every artist and art history enthusiast I am going to name some formal and conceptual characteristics of both movements.
Como toda artista y entusiasta de la Historia del arte voy nombrar algunas características formales y conceptuarles de ambos movimientos.
Let's start with Expressionism that despite being an artistic, cinematographic, musical and literary movement, I will focus on painting which was the starting point of this artistic movement that emerged in Germany during the transition from the nineteenth century to the twentieth century.
And it is one of the first artistic movements to be catalogued as Vanguards. The term "expressionist" was first used in 1901 to designate a series of paintings presented to the Salon des Indépendants in Paris, and is attributed to Julién-Auguste Hervé
Empezamos con el expresionismo que a pesar de haber sido un movimiento artístico, cinematográfico, musical y literario, me centrare en la pintura que fue el punto de partida de este movimiento artístico que surgió en Alemania durante la transición del siglo XIX al siglo XX. Y es uno de los primeros movimientos artísticos en ser catalogados como Vanguardias. El término “expresionista” se usó por primera vez en 1901 para designar una serie de cuadros presentados al Salón de los Independientes de París, y se le atribuye a Julién-Auguste Hervé.
Its fundamental principle tends to be summarized in the deformation of reality to express the emotional and psychological, i.e. subjective, content of the artist. The use of colors is very expressive and violent, the pigments were vibrant, either fused or separated. His main theme was loneliness and misery.

The artist opposes deliberately rational composition and promotes the value of intuition and improvisation. This leads him to make unnatural perspectives, that is, arbitrary according to the objectives of representation. And it determines his preference for angular forms.
El artista se opone a la composición deliberadamente racional y promueve el valor de la intuición y la improvisación. Esto lo lleva a realizar perspectivas no-naturales, es decir, arbitrarias acorde con los objetivos de la representación. Y determina su preferencia por las formas angulosas.
Fauvism or Fovism was an artistic movement and a pictorial style that emerged in France in the early twentieth century. Its founding event was the Salon d'Automne exhibition in Paris, where many of the works of the first Fauves were exhibited.
In the review of the exhibition, published in the Gil Blas newspaper of October 17, 1905, reference was made to these works by comparing them to wild beasts (les fauves), which served to baptize the new artistic movement.
Ahora vamos con el Fauvismo o fovismo fue un movimiento artístico y un estilo pictórico surgidos en Francia a comienzos del siglo XX. Tuvo como evento fundacional la exposición del Salón de Otoño de París, donde muchas de las obras de los primeros fauvistas se expusieron. En la reseña de la exposición, publicada en el diario Gil Blas del 17 de octubre de 1905, se hacía referencia a dichas obras comparándolas con las fieras (les fauves), lo cual sirvió para bautizar al nuevo movimiento artístico.
Fauvism was characterized by a bold and carefree style, which ignored the chiaroscuro and perspectives, and bet on the brilliance of colors and the expression of feelings. The figures of the Fauvist plane are usually flat, and sometimes appear delimited by thick contours.
The themes of Fauvism oscillate between urban representations and those of the rural world. It is possible to find nudes, still lifes, outdoor scenes or landscapes.
El fauvismo se caracterizó por un estilo atrevido y desenfadado, que ignoraba los claroscuros y las perspectivas, y apostaba por la brillantez de los colores y por la expresión de los sentimientos. Las figuras del plano fauvista suelen ser planas, y algunas veces aparecen delimitadas por gruesos contornos. Los temas del fauvismo oscilan entre las representaciones urbanas y las del mundo rural. Es posible hallar desnudos, bodegones, escenas al aire libre o paisajes.
After researching the characteristics of both artistic movements, I came to the conclusion that my paintings are a mixture of both. But I would like to know your opinions, so I read them in the comments.

Hi, I think it's both. This is what I have found regarding Fauvism and Expressionism:
Fauvism is a movement in painting that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century. It was a reaction to Impressionism and was characterized by the use of bright, bold colors and an expressive paint treatment.
So reading that, I think both.
