The Pacific Northwest of Canada has one of the richest ecosystems on earth. From the birds that take advantage of an ocean full of fish, and larger land mammals like bears and wolfs, to the massive whales that portal the waters. This place has it all!

Of course, there is a smaller creature that we cannot see so easily. This sea foam is made up of tiny creatures called Diatoms. These microscopic organisms can become extremely concentrated creating "blooms" which we see as seafoam. Many zooplanktons including snails and small fish include Diatoms in their diet.

These places are beautiful and full of life. Go out and explore the beaches and forest of the PNW if you have the chance. These places and environments can do wonder for your physical and mental health.
