Hace ya meses quiero compartir una leyenda sobre la particular coloración de las gatas Carey, pero aunque he buscado mucho la fuente original de esta leyenda, por respetar derechos de autor y todo eso, no he conseguido de donde proviene originalmente la información, pero al ser es tan hermosa esta leyenda y se que les gustará, se la voy compartir y luego explicaré brevemente, aunque ya lo hice en otro post, porque la genérica,por medio de los cromosomas, entra aquí en juego.
Cuentan que hace ya mucho tiempo atrás, el sol decidió que quería participar de la vida en la Tierra.
Para ello pidió ayuda a la luna para que cubriera su ausencia con el fin de que los humanos no se percatasen de que el astro rey ya no estaba en su lugar.
La luna aceptó y tomó la posición del sol de manera lenta pero inexorable, de manera que el Sol deseoso de vivir las experiencias de un mundo que sentía lejano, tomo forma de uno de los animales en los que mejor pasaría inadvertido y que la vez le fascinaba. Eligió una gata negra.
Y así paso el tiempo, el Sol vivió con intensidad aquellos días en la tierra hasta que la Luna, cansada de esperar su regreso decidió retirarse.
El Sol tuvo que salir rápido del cuerpo de la gata negra a ocupar su lugar en el cielo, pero en su rápida huida, miles de rayos de luminosos y dorados colores, cubrieron y quedaron atrapados en la mágica piel de la gata negra.
Desde entonces las hijas de aquella gata llevan el recuerdo de los rayos y destellos dorados que el sol olvidó en su madre, así como su temperamento y sabiduría.

Las gatas Carey son aquellas que combinan en su pelaje colores blancos, negros y naranja también pueden estar presentes o haber una combinación de colores grisáceos, cremas y negros..Como dato interesante cada patrón es único, es decir, su diseño es irrepetible , no se encontrará en ningún otro gato.
Aunque la mayoría son hembras, pueden existir gatos machos con estos colores, pero también es probable que ese gato sea estéril.
La razón del origen de este patrón es genético..Los gatos cuentan con dos cromosomas sexuales: el X, proporcionado por mamá gata , y el Y, por papá gato. Si la combinación da “XX”, el nuevo gatito será hembra y si es “XY”, macho.
Ahora bien ,solo las hembras dan en herencia , la coloración negra y anaranjada, por lo que un macho – que tiene solo un X – no puede presentar ambos colores. El blanco, por su parte no está ligado al sexo y puede aparecer o no, el se gobierna como mejor le parece. Por ello, lo más común es que las /Carey sean hembras
A las gatas Carey se les asocia con la buena suerte. En Japón los marineros nunca zarpaban sin una gata Carey a bordo para asegurar el buen tiempo.En Irlanda se cree que tener una gata tricolor en el hogar alejaba a los malos espíritus.
Yo he visto cualquier cantidad de gatas Carey, son para algunas personas consideradas feas, pero para mi todos los gatos son hermosos. ¿Tu has visto gatas Carey?

Son pocos como mencione, pero en su mayoría si es Carey es Hembra, si esa leyenda es hermosa por eso la quería compartirla aquí para que la conocieran.
