Sitting on the bench in the plaza, I observed something shiny that came from a leaf, a small caterpillar or larva was walking.

The fountains in the square told me that it was a Monarch caterpillar. They eat the milkweed plant. Rotate the blade to take the full image; bright colors, black, yellow rings and antennae. It may take 20 minutes to eat the leaf.

It is amazing of nature how some species must go through different stages of maturity, unlike humans, this process is shorter and culminates in a flight of freedom.
