Hello! How's your day everyone? Let me share the beauty of nature here in our place. This place is known as the Little Batanes in North Cebu. It was featured on the Sugbo PH page. A page managed by Cebuano focuses on the beautiful tourist spot in Cebu, Philippines.

Why it is called a Little Batanes?

Batanes was a province of the Philippines in the Luzon part. It is a place which everyone calls a paradise. A lot of people posted on their social media about the stunning view of Batanes. I was jealous because they were lucky to be there. It is a place that is dreamt by couples for their photography as their memories. When I saw the place through social media, I was so amazed at being a gorgeous place. That's why people here called it "Little Batanes of North Cebu". It is the same as Batanes in Luzon. But, the original Batanes is spectacular.

In Little Batanes of North Cebu, Philippines, a lot of riders did motor races going up the hill. They started doing it during the pandemic. But at present time, they are not allowed to do motor races because the owner fenced the land in the lower part of a hill. But, you can still go up to the hill because the fence was just in the lower part. The owner made the right decision so that the hill would be preserved to its original beauty.

It is nice to walk there because there is a road already. Unlike before, we had difficulty walking there if it was rainy season.

This wide land had planted a lot of sugar cane before. It stopped because the sugar mill in Danao City had no delivery due to no supply of sugarcane from the planters.

Years ago, a lot of sugarcane was planted in our town. We had fun eating it during our childhood days. I even worked in the sugarcane land when I was in high school. I got the bushes around. It wasn't easy at that time. But, I'm grateful that I experienced it because I knew earlier how to earn money.

Anyway, this wide land had few people living there. Some part of this land is sold already. It seems the owner of this land gave up on producing sugarcane.

Benefits of exposing ourselves to nature: (Based on my experience)

  • It gives a stress-free from work.
  • It helps our mental health good.
  • It can lessen our anger toward others.
  • It helps our mind relax like nothing to worry about.

Things to do there:

  • Everyone can go hiking there and enjoy the view around.

  • Some cyclists can go there every morning and enjoy the greenery place.

  • At the top of the hill, you can go camping with friends, family or relatives. Just bring your camping tent. If you don't have a tent, you can overnight stay at Camp Batanes which is located at the top of a hill.

  • A lot of couples have done their photo shoots at the top of the hill with verdant grassland as the background. It is best also to capture before sunrise and during or after sunset for prenuptial photography.

My Experience:

I had enjoyed hiking there with my partner. It was early in the morning when I was pregnant. I do exercise there because that's what a pregnant does. They said it is easy to have labor when you always go hiking. Eventually, I had caesarean delivery due to an umbilical cord case.

Also, I enjoyed taking a lot of beautiful photos and it was refreshing because I could smell the fresh air while walking.

Features:

  • There is a mountain range view nearby at the hill.
  • There are rooms for rent for overnight stay at the Camp Batanes (@ Top of Hill)
  • There is a store for snacks or drinks. But, it is better to bring your food and drinks to save money.
  • Everyone can capture a lot of stunning photos because of the Greenland, sunset and mountain range as backgrounds.

How to go there?

  • From the City of Cebu, just go to the SM Bus Terminal next to the Radisson Hotel.

  • Find a route bound to Hangnaya, Bantayan, Medellin or Bogo City. Then, stop at Caduawan Elementary School. Then, look for a motorcycle driver and tell him to go to Little Batanes.

  • For private transportation, just turn at the right corner before Caduawan Elementary School if you're from Cebu City. If you are from Bogo City, just turn to the left corner which is next to Caduawan Elementary School.

Note: It takes 10 minutes to go there through a ride.

About the fare:

The fare is 50 pesos to 100 pesos.
