Sand lizard sunbathing at the apiary
Today I was able to capture the sand lizards, which are present at my apiary, with the camera for the first time. They are very shy and every time I approached them, they were gone before I could pull out the camera.
The lizards enjoy an extensive sunbath on the warm roof tiles I use to weigh down the hives so the wind blows the lid off.
The brown lizard is a female, the green one with the brown dorsal stripe is the male.
