The seasons come and go. Sometimes the end of one and the start of another can happen in one day. Fall is close to ending when all the crop fields are harvested and almost all the leaves from the trees have fallen. It seems to go by so fast. Yesterday we had our first real snow fall and it continues today. Not a lot of snow, maybe an inch in total. We're suppose to get up to 2 inches before it's done with. Again even that total is not a lot.
Some embrace the first snow a little to early. With snow comes shoveling driveways & sidewalks and cleaning off your vehicles. The first snow fall usually isn't a time to start these activities. To me this snow fall is simply a little more than dusting. The mid day sun will probably get rid of it. So I won't being doing these activities unless by 5:00 p.m. it's got some depth to it.
It didn't take long for the sun to melt the snow on the roads and driveways. I took this shot shortly after noon. I was right and just knew the snow would be melted by the sun later. That's why I didn't waste my energy getting busy shoveling in the morning. By the way, that was the only neighbor that shoveled prematurely. I'm sure he felt accomplished after completing but how does he feel now that everyone's driveway looks the same as his? Haha.
I didn't go delivery driving this morning for two reasons. One reason is the first snow of the year brings stupidity among some drivers. Really two things happen here. One is the crazy drivers who have no regard for it. They just drive to fast and don't consider stopping distances. The other are drivers that are way too cautious driving in it. They drive so slow that it puts themselves and others at risk. Not a lot of snow but there were many traffic accidents around the area. Later in the winter when there is a lot of snow there will be fewer accidents. I guess the first snow fall is a learning experience or reminder for some drivers you have to drive differently even though this happens every year 😂
The other reason I didn't delivery drive is I'm fighting a common cold. I already feel better than I did yesterday. I had a runny nose, some congestion and some body pains. I have been eating lighter and pounding the water. I even cut my coffee consumption this morning to just one cup. Runny nose and body pain is mostly gone all that I'm dealing with now is a little congestion.
I'm going to miss the scenery and activities of the fall. The cool weather and the beautiful assortment of colors of nature are all gone now. Experiencing nature in comfortable clothes and going for a walk, fishing in the open water, and sitting near an open fire are relaxing things I enjoy doing during the fall season. It just a time of year where it's usually not too hot nor cold.
Winter has its beauty as well. Snow brings a white look that can be stunning to see as well. When I get the chance to show lots of it I will. The best snow is the snow that hasn't been disturbed. The best part of the winter season is the Holiday season and the first few weeks of a new year. There are activities to take part of in the winter. Most are activities that you can only do during winter. Rather than tell you about it I will show you at another time. I'm sure there will be brown moments too which I don't always find appealing, hopefully they will be towards the end of the winter season. The brown moments are welcomed towards the end of the winter season because that means spring 🌱 is just around the corner.
My birthday was last Wednesday and I did a little challenge for my readers(screenshot picture & text from my article above). I had a bit more than a handful of guesses but I think some thought it was my actual age which I did mention in the post. Maybe most were just a nice gesture thinking I was younger. Anyways the key as one pointed out is the hospital bracelet on my arm.
So back in those days, haha. Women spent more time in the hospital after delivering than they do today. So back in New York where most of my family resides women spent 3 days in the hospital. I was born in South Dakota where women spent 5 days in the hospital. The difference I believe was due to population size. Anyways I was still in the hospital in that picture and I was 4 days old. Only one person guessed 4 days and that was @ruffatotmeee she takes all the HBD, congratulations 🎉
Well fall has come to an end as this article has too. Winter is here now and the upcoming holidays are fast approaching. After that winter will be here for another four months. It will be a time of different activities that I will surely share with you.

I'm visiting family in Leicester, and it's way colder than it has been in Devon, and shortly, I'll have to go face it. Still, there's no snow, so I'm thankful:)

If you can find some fresh ginger, you can make maybe a couple of inches long into thin slices and boil them for about 5 minutes . The longer you boil them will make the tea stronger.
You can add some honey and/or lemon for taste and additional benefits.

I wish it was calm, haha. We had wind gust up to 40 mph which makes the cold even colder. I stayed in almost all day though. We barely got over an inch of snow it would have bad if we got a lot of snow with the winds. Well I could have taken more pictures through the windows of my house showing snow drifts 🤔

I already feel cold just by looking at the photo, however, the photo with the firewood burning makes it feel a little warmer. To experience snow is a dream for me!

Thanks for swinging by 😊 Today is the coldest day of the season so far at 17 degrees fahrenheit. Feels cold especially since it was 60 something last Wednesday. More colder days ahead, Ill be wishing for 17 degree days, haha. Maybe someday your travels will include snow ❄️

Yes it's quite common here actually a bit late to be honest. It's snown as early as October.

Love the first snowfall! It’s certainly a time though to let the people remember how to drive in it. It amazes me that we get snow every year and people forget how to drive every year lol. Do they forget how to walk in the morning? Come on people! Lol.

Yup it's every single year the first snow leads to the most accidents. I'm sure a majority of them are young city dwellers. I know its not older country raised individuals like me, haha.

As long as the lakes freeze around me this year I’ll be happy! Two years ago we went ice skating for the first time on the lake we go to often. Last year it was the first time in 20 years it didn’t freeze sadly, when we were looking for something to do outside lol.

I hear that it's seems to be one or other when it comes to extremes. Last year in mid December we had temps that reached 25 degrees below and it never got that cold again even in January or February. I'll take cold but not artic cold give a foot or more of ice and we will be good.
It's almost December but I haven't seen the colors of autumn yet, lol. I don't want winter to come too soon..😅
You probably have a bit more time but than again your winter is probably like our fall in HK. Winter Chill and excitement looking forward to different hot drinks, foods, warm cozy interior activity, and some outdoor activity.
I never experience that snowy season in my entire life, my gosh! But my 2 siblings did but my younger bro tell me that snow almost killed me at Japan. Damn! It's so cold as what he said Bob and if they don't have a heater in that apartment, they all die hahaha. I never expect that kind of experience.
The thing about the cold is you have to dress in layers. I imagine it can be extremely brutal to those who haven't experienced. We have many blankets in the home and some space heaters. Never know when furnace may stop working or the power goes out. A warm house can go cold quick.
