The Erskine River flows in the hills above Lorne with is a Seaside Holiday resort town on the stunning Great Ocean Road about a hour and half drive outside of Melbourne Australia.
Erskine River isn't so much famous for the river, but rather the Waterfalls, which is the last photo below - these falls are quite nice, it's about a 30 metre falls, with some reasonable volume given we are in a rainforest.
There is a viewing platform half way down the falls and then again at the bottom which make them very accessible, that also means that the falls themselves have morons wandering all around them as they try to get the perfect selfie, and thus are actually difficult to get a clean shot of.
More interesting through is once you are at the bottom you have the Erksine river flowing away from the falls, which are truly stunning.
So armed with a) A Fujifilm XT-3 b)a Fujinon 10-24mm wide angle zoom c)A ND64 filter and d)a Tripod I was able to capture the beauty of this river.
These shots are all 10 second shutter speeds, which of course gives the movement of the water a silky look
This is pretty amazing to non photographers, but in reality with a few pieces of equipment is one of the easiest things to do assuming you can find the setting.
So of course the secret is in the composition, my favourite is the first pic - the diagonal log across the river I think works well.
