Exploring the Beauty of the Special Nature Reserve Ivanovacka Ada

in WE ARE MOVING2 years ago

Hello there!👋

Today, for the first time, I would like to bravely share some nature snapshots from my recent weekend adventure with this community. Now, I'm no pro photographer – just armed with my trusty Android phone. But I'm head over heels for capturing moments. So, please bear with my amateur shots as I try to do justice to the beauty of this place. Fingers crossed for a little "wow" amidst the everyday "snap"!😊

Ivanovo is a village on the Danube River and also the smallest settlement located within the territory of the city of Pancevo,in the South Banat District of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, in the Republic of Serbia.

There's a way to reach Ivanovo from the "Belgrade side" using a ferry. However, we opted for overland travel, which allowed us to capture something rarely seen - cows grazing and their guardian.

Nestled within Ivanovo lies a natural gem - a river island on the Danube named 'Ivanovačka Ada', which is the main star of this post ⭐️.

Designated a natural monument since 2009, it holds the distinction of being a significant natural asset under the third level of protection. This preservation strategy safeguards the remaining fragments of the erstwhile floodplain forests adorned with willows and poplars, along with their diverse flora and fauna inhabitants. (here I employed Wikipedia wisdom)

Ivanovo left an impression on me as perhaps one of the greenest villages in Vojvodina.

I'm not sure if this four-legged gentleman is part of the diverse fauna inhabitants of this place, but he happily joined us on the walk 🙃.

He led us to an old, seemingly long-forgotten bicycle. Here, someone has built a large shelter, now covered in ivy.

It's important to note that the Special Nature Reserve "Ivanovacka Ada" also holds the reputation of being one of the most renowned fishing and excursion spots near Pancevo.

We kept our fingers crossed for the few fishermen we found on the shore.

After enjoying nature and playfully interrupting the fishermen, a rickety wooden bridge led us to the tavern 'At Black's' (originally 'Kod Crnog'),which is actually floating platform on the river.

And here's another new friend who sought shelter from the sun under a boat...

Their working hours are "From 08:00 - until the end" and there's a sign saying, "I'm not deaf, I'm ignoring you!" along with the "Fisherman's Prayer," which goes: "God, grant me to catch a fish I can talk about all my life, without lying."

Along Black's jetty, a modest boat dock was constructed, and both swans and people relished the river's embrace.

With the first sunset, swarms of mosquitoes descended upon us, forcing us into an early retreat to the car.

So, we sad goodbay to Ivanovo, a village where the land is guarded by a natural monument. Here, fishing tales are, I presume, as grand as mosquitoes' appetites. This place definitely left an impression on me as potentially one of the most greenest villages in Vojvodina.

So, until the next adventure, Ivanovo, may your rivers flow and your mosquitoes stay well-fed!

I hope you had a blast (or at least a pleasant ripple) and thanks for stopping by!😉

Have a beautiful day! 🤗
