Woah, the last post under the title "The Wild World in Front of My Window" is from 2022. I have already presented five birds and a squirrel here, which I photographed from a window of my apartment. This time I have an Asian glossy starling* here.
Woah, der letzte Post unter dem Titel "The Wild World in Front of My Window" ist von 2022. Fünf Vögeln und ein Hörnchen habe ich bereits hier vorgestell, die ich aus einem Fenster meiner Wohnung fotografiert habe. Diesmal habe ich hier einen Malaienstar*.
I was a little inattentive when I was looking through my pictures. I had initially thought that I had another Crested myna in front of the camera.
Ein klein wenig unaufmerksam war ich schon beim Durchsehen meiner Bilder. Denn ich hatte vorerst gedacht, ich hätte wieder eine Crested myna vor der Kamera gehabt.
The difference is most obvious in the eyes. The Asian glossy starling has deep red eyes. This makes the bird look more dangerous than it is.
Der Unterschied wird am schnellsten deutlich bei den Augen. Der Malaienstar hat tief rote Augen. Das lässt den Vogel gefährlicher aussehen, als er ist.
There is not much to report in terms of behavior. It grooms itself, occasionally fluffs itself up, and in between it observes its surroundings attentively. Just like any other bird.
Im Verhalten gibt es nicht viel zu berichten. Es wird sich geputzt, hin und wieder dann aufgeplustert, dazwischen wird die Umgebung aufmerksam beobachtet. So wie jeder andere Vogel auch.
And on we go. Up and away.

Asian glossy starling eye is very wild and it is scary to me yet it's beautiful because nature has its own justified colors which are beautiful ❤️
It must be really nice to have that kind of view and wildlife from your window. : )
