I think this beautiful toucan deserves to be the first friend to appear in this publication, not only because visually it has always been one of my favorite animals because of its colors, but also because it has given me a beautiful pose for my camera. A few days ago my beautiful family and I connected with nature for the first time in 2024 visiting the zoo in my city Maracay, which we had not visited for years and now is totally different in the variety of animals and the dignified treatment they give them.
Creo que este hermoso tucán merece ser el primer amiguito en aparecer en esta publicación, no solo porque visualmente siempre ha sido uno de mis animales favoritos por sus colores, sino porque me ha regalado una hermosa pose para mi cámara. Hace unos días mi hermosa familia y yo conectamos con la naturaleza por primera vez en 2024 visitando el zoológico de mi ciudad Maracay, el cual teníamos años sin visitar y ahora es totalmente distinto en la variedad de animales y el trato digno que les dan.
Over the years I have liked less the existence of zoos, especially in countries like mine, as I saw some places where I did not think they took good care of the animals, in fact for many years the same people had a very difficult life, so how could they be aware of the welfare of the animals.... But things have changed a little, the Venezuelan economy is still difficult but when they want to do a good job they do it, and regarding zoos, at least the one in Maracay has copied a little bit the dignified way they treat the animals.
Con el paso de los años me ha gustado menos la existencia de los zoológicos, sobre todo en países como el mío, ya que vi algunos lugares donde no me parecía que cuidaran bien a los animales, de hecho por muchos años las mismas personas tuvieron una vida muy difícil, así que cómo podrían estar pendientes del bienestar de los animales?... Pero las cosas han cambiado un poco, la economía venezolana sigue siendo difícil pero cuando quieren hacer un buen trabajo lo logran, y respecto a zoológicos, al menos el de Maracay ha copiado un poco la manera digna en que tratan a los animales.
With harmless animals like this peacock there is no fear of letting them free and interact with people, in fact I noticed that the danger is people, especially parents who do not teach respect to children, but well, that's another topic. It was really nice to walk among several species, although there were some very large mammals that really scared me, I don't even know their names, but I didn't get that close. In fact that was one of the only flaws of the place, the habitats did not have the name and details of the animal, so many times we had to guess what animal it was.
Con animales inofensivos como este pavo real no hay temor de dejarlos libres y que interactúen con las personas, de hecho noté que el peligro son las personas, sobre todo los padres que no le enseñan el respeto a los niños, pero bueno, ese es otro tema. Realmente fue grato pasearse entre varias especies, aunque había algunos mamíferos muy grandes que sí me daban miedo, ni siquiera sé sus nombres, pero no me acerqué tanto. De hecho ese era una de las únicas fallas del lugar, los hábitats no tenían el nombre y los detalles del animal, así que muchas veces teníamos que adivinar qué animal era.
Felines will always be my passion, I love them in all shapes and sizes, but I could definitely only hug the cats hahaha. I made two rounds in this habitat because on the first visit I found the leopards sleeping and the white lions procreating 😅 but then I came back and they were all willing to interact with us, like the leopard you see above, he was a bit annoyed... On the other hand the lions were happy and satisfied 🤣
Los felinos siempre serán mi pasión, los amo en todas las formas y tamaños, pero definitivamente solo podría abrazar a los gatos jajaja. Hice dos rondas en este hábitat porque en la primera visita encontré a los leopardos durmiendo y a los leones blancos procreando 😅 pero luego volví y todos estaban dispuestos a interactuar con nosotros, como el leopardo que ven arriba, estaba un poco molesto... En cambio los leones estaban felices y satisfechos 🤣
There are animals that I have never seen before, like these two that I show you in the pictures below, I don't know if they are the same species, but they have them separated. For me they are llamas, but a zookeeper tells us that it was a Peruvian alpaca, so if someone really knows the difference I would be very grateful to be informed. The thing is that both species looked happy in their habitat and did not hide from people like other animals.
Hay animales que nunca había visto, como estos dos que les muestro en las fotografías de abajo, no sé si son la misma especie, pero los tienen separados. Para mí son llamas, pero un guardia del zoológico nos dice que era una alpaca peruana, así que s alguien realmente conoce la diferencia estaría muy agradecido de que me informen. El caso es que ambas especies se veían felices en su hábitat y no se escondían de las personas como otros animales.
At the end of the day we approached the monkeys' habitat. They were not locked in cages as when I was a child, now they can move as they want in a space surrounded by a small lagoon so they do not have access to people. The animals really look very happy and it seems that people like this new format of the Maracay Zoo as much as I do, where respect is fundamental, and although not everything is perfect, it is clear that they are making a great effort to improve.
Al final del día nos acercamos al hábitat de los monos. No estaban encerrados en jaulas como cuando yo era niño, ahora pueden desplazarse como quieran en un espacio rodeado de una pequeña laguna para que no tengan acceso a las personas. Realmente los animales se ven muy felices y pareciera que a las personas les gusta tanto como a mí este nuevo formato del zoológico de Maracay, donde el respeto es fundamental, y aunque no todo es perfecto se nota que hacen un gran esfuerzo por mejorar.
I captured these photos with my Tecno Pova II and edited them with PhotoDirector App. There were many animals missing, but I chose the most beautiful ones because I just enjoyed the walk and didn't take my phone out so much so as not to get distracted. Estas fotografías las capturé con mi Tecno Pova II y las edité con PhotoDirector App. Faltaron fotos de muchos animales, pero elegí las más hermosas ya que me dediqué a disfrutar el paseo y no sacar tanto el teléfono para no distraerme. Sin duda alguna podría volver a este lugar dentro de poco e intentar coincidir con los animales que no quisieron asomarse a saludar 😅 gracias a todos los que leen y apoyan mis publicaciones, les deseo excelente fin de semana...
Los animales son asombrosos, recuerdo cuando fui a una reserva y habia cientos de pavos reales (imaginate lo feliz que estaba jaja) porque habia pocas personas, pero en vacaciones de invierno habia demasiadas personas y muchos chicos que se ve que los padres no eran muy responsables, asi que note que los pavos reales ya no estaban, los habian escondido para que no los molestaran, lo mismo con un buho hermoso que tienen ahi.
Ame el tucan y el pavo real, las aves son mi debilidad y me quede contemplandolos un buen rato jaja de pequeña amaba los zoologicos, pero cuando uno va creciendo empieza a comprender lo que un zoologico significa 😢 menos mal que ahi se ve los tienen bien cuidados.
¡Hola amiga!. Tienes razón, al menos lo que está a la vista se ve bien, pero siento que con la nueva administración siempre le dan un trato digno a los animales. Las fotos de las aves no fueron las mejores porque sus jaulas son más cerradas, pero son muy, muy amplias, ellos tienen mucha libertad de desplazarse y compartir entre ellas. Nos habría gustado que el pavo real que estaba suelto abriera su cola, pero no nos dio el gusto, me imagino eso que me cuentas con cientos de pavos reales, debe ser hermoso, y a la vez es mejor que se vayan cuando hay mucha gente, ya que no todos suelen respetarlos; tú como Buhito que eres debes saber esto 😘 Gracias como siempre 🙏
Dios mío que fantasía totalmente, yo también pienso como tú al respecto de los zoológicos pero admito que si me gustaría ir a alguno que sea bueno, ya que jamas lo he hecho y aquí en mi ciudad no hay nada de eso tristemente, pero ver todas las fotos y tu experiencia me fascinó, como si yo también hubiera estado ahí, así que buena publicación de verdad, ame los monoss jajaja un saludo amigo <3
Después de leerte pienso que me habría encantado compartir mas fotos, pero no todas salieron bien. Diego, no puedo creer que nunca hayas ido a un zoológico, por muchos años no han sido los mejores lugares, ya que es cautiverio, pero hay personas que en la actualidad se encargan de hacerlos mas parecidos a reservas naturales, donde los animales no se sientan tan presos. Por ejemplo el hábitat de los felinos no era jaulas como cuando yo era niño, ahora es un gran patio con vegetación y en vez de rejas hay un vidrio que nos separa de ellos, eso es agradable, entre otras mejoras, ojalá tengas el placer algún día, pero de uno que sea muy bonito. Concuerdo en el sentir de que los animales deberían estar en su hábitat natural. Y, al igual que vosotros, no puedo evitar disfrutar de contemplarlos cuando tengo la oportunidad.
Pienso que de haber dispuesto de las mismas imágenes que capturarse yo también habría elegido al tucán, es un ejemplar precioso.
La anécdota de los leones blancos… 🤣 El pasado verano tuve una experiencia similar con una pareja de palomas. 🤣

Jajajaja, leones y palomas, bueno, ellos son felices, y casi tuve la foto de la exclusiva, pero justo en ese momento se separaron y salio movida. Esto de los zoológicos es de sentimientos encontrados, porque aunque no nos gusta verlos en cautiverio al mismo tiempo es la única manera que tenemos de observarlos de cerca, pero sí me consta que al menos aquí ha mejorado mucho el trato, en mi niñez los felinos y los monos estaban en jaulas y esta vez tenían todo un hábitat, además de otros que estaban sueltos. Claro que había algunos animales enjaulados y de hecho no compartieron mucho con el público ese día, como el mapache, pero bueno... Gracias por tu visita amiga 😘

I can certify that the zoo in my city has improved, when I was a kid what reigned were the cages and in fact they are still there, but most of them are empty, this habitats thing was the best thing they did for these new animals, it was very nice to go. I would have loved to have a better camera to capture pictures, but in the meantime I'll settle for that one of the toucan, I think it came from my heart because I love that bird.
