Today I want to tell you about my observation of a beautiful plant. It is not news to say that we have gone through a difficult year, and that the time we had to spend locked up in our homes helped us to do many things that we did not do before; I spent this free time observing my plants, something I always wanted to do, and now the opportunity presented itself
This beautiful specimen in this area of the world is known as a ¨mamon¨ plant in other places it is known as ¨papaya¨ or ¨milky¨; This plant gave me my cousin more than a year ago, because of how she was grown when I received it, I presume that she will be two years old; When I put it in its place it was less than a meter, now it is over three meters, it is fast growing and I think it reached its maximum height
The first thing to notice that this plant is always green, even with the change of season; On some occasions, observe that some of its leaves change color and turn yellow, then brown, this is a sign that the leaf is dying and falls from the plant; This is not something frequent, it is sporadic
The appearance of a leafy ¨tree¨ that does not fool you, although its ¨trunk¨ seems strong, and suggests that it will have a good ¨wood¨, it is not like that, its stem is fibrous type , and I dare say that it is hollow inside
The presence of "flowers" does not indicate the arrival of "spring"; They are announcing that soon the plant will begin to produce fruit
The fruits are edible and provide many benefits to our body; In my house we used to make ¨mamón¨ candy in ¨almíbar¨, but I have knowledge that you can prepare many drinks with it; The fruits are positioned in the crown of the tree hugging the stem; This is a plant that produces several kilos of fruit
The fruits have a white substance, a thick liquid, hence the name "Milky" in some countries; It is advisable not to bring the fruit to your clothing, they are damaged by contact with this thick liquid
When the fruits change color, it is because they are ready to be eaten; We took these photographs with a ¨NikonCoolpixB500¨ camera.
