Harvest Moon Trail-way

I'd like to introduce you to one of my dog, Dude's, favorite hiking trails. This trail is very easy, flat, clean, and safe, right next to the ocean.

This trail used to be a train track. Unfortunately, they stopped using railroads and train services... Noooo! I can't believe they removed the railroads and dumped dirt on them. It was a valuable and useful system for everyone I guess.

When I arrived in this town, I couldn't believe it. No train? Even though they used to have one? How could they stop such a useful service for people? Most people drive cars here, but what about children, students, international students, tourists, and old people, or those who can't drive? There is a bus service in town, but it only runs once an hour.

If we still had trains, people would surely use them. The railroad was right next to the beautiful ocean, and tourists would be attracted by the gorgeous view. This town craves tourism and new international students but they went in the opposite direction.

Anyway, the town turned the railroad into a hiking trail for people. We can walk, jog, or ride bicycles there. It's a great atmosphere for hiking. I hope they can introduce eco electric buses or small automatic vehicles for this trail so we can visit many different towns.

We enjoyed walking with Dude. He will introduce you to this hiking trail.

That's sad, maybe they don't want this place to be filled with lot of people and stay as it is now? That's why they put a stop on it? Or maybe most of the people there have their own vehicles to use. I never really tried riding in a train, but I always want to experience it. All of the people i the big city already experience it. I'm the only one who doesn't, lol. By the way, hello Dude, how are yah? You lookin' as handsome as ever hehฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

Yeah, I think that when they decided to stop trains, they wanted people to use gas more. Everyone has to have their own car here, but as you said, it's very sad to lose nice options in our lives.

Anyway, Dude is doing very well, thank you! He looks happy there, and we all enjoy walking together!

There are a lot of trees bearing fruits in the Trailway, I just wonder if is it okay for people to pick fruits to eat or take them? Or perhaps is it strictly prohibited? Because I was the one who would walk in there, the fruits would surely lure me out to take them home with me.

!PIZZA

Yes, you can, I guess! I mean, I pick some blackberries sometimes. My dog likes to eat them with me. There are no warning signs about that, but we have to be careful not to damage trees for sure! I love picking fruits too.

Hello dear friend @koto-art good day
This not only happens there, here in Argentina they did the same, they left the provinces cut off from each other, by cutting off the train services, it is true, it is a true crime to do this. But they are political decisions, and before that one can do nothing
The good thing about everything that has not been in vain, at least it works as for hiking
It's good to see that your pet enjoys the walk there, beautiful shots, beautiful place, I appreciate all the information you give us
have a great day

But they are political decisions, and before that one can do nothing

True… it is very true. I hear you. We need more options for our lives. I don't always want to drive cars. Sometimes I want to walk on foot and enjoy the many small details that we can't notice by car.

Anyway, yes, we enjoy this hiking course with our dog. He loves to come with us. Actually, he thinks he's taking us for a walk. Hahaha

pets are identified as being the true enthusiasts of walks with their masters, they are the ones who choose, generally the path to follow
May you continue to enjoy Dude's company

We appreciate your work and your publication has been hand selected by the geography curation team on behalf of the Amazing Nature Community. Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for your support! I appreciate it.

Much of America used to be connected by train, not so different from Japan today. You could travel across America to all the big cities by train. My mom used to take the train from our tiny hometown in Indiana to her dad's family near Chicago. By car it's over 4 hours, but by train even back then it was only three hours. But the car companies very successfully lobbied to decrease funding to trains and turn the government against them. That is one of the reasons that throughout America over the past 30 years old train lines have been torn up and replaced with walking trails. It's a terrible shame. When politicians say things like "America is too big to use trains" I want to scream "We used to have a good train system! You guys destroyed it and now you say it doesn't work? China is just as big as north America and they have a built a nice train system in the past ten years." It's very frustrating....

I don't know Canada well, but I can imagine it might be a similar story there.

But anyway, great photos and glad you can enjoy walking with Dude there. It's too bad they tore up the train system, but the hiking trails are nice to walk on.

I totally agree with you! I enjoy taking trains, subways, buses, streetcars, monorails, and so on when I visit different countries instead of just driving cars. When we catch trains, we feel very free to go anywhere, as you know. We can sleep, read, eat, drink, enjoy conversation, and more!

I enjoyed riding on the Amtrak when I visited the US before, even though they often stopped for mechanical issues. That became one of my trip memories.

In Canada, it's basically the same as you said. Monopoly businesses are controlling our transportation… I don't want to drive all the time. Sometimes I want to catch trains. It's so wasteful not to use these beautiful options here. We could go to Halifax by train. It means we can go to the airport by train. It would be much more convenient for sure...

Anyway, I love Japanese trains and subways. I don't like rush hours, but they're very useful and fun!
