Amazing Nature - The place where it gets dark at 11 PM, ideal for the longest walks of all. / El lugar donde oscurece a las 11 PM, ideal para salir a dar los paseos más largos de todos. 😃❤️

Arriving in the city of Ushuaia was a very special trip for me for several reasons. This was the second trip I made alone once my horizon expanded and the fact of being more than 3000 km away from home no longer seemed so far away. Being in the southernmost city in my country and the world is the farthest I have ever been and I wanted to do this trip so badly that I was lucky enough to be able to make it at the last minute. I'm very happy to think that the circumstances were right for me to go and explore this beautiful city, because I loved it from the day I arrived until the day I left, and if I could go again, I would go back without hesitation because it is worth thousands of visits ❤️.

Haber llegado a la ciudad de Ushuaia representó un viaje muy especial para mí por varias razones. Este fue el segundo viaje que hice sola una vez que mi horizonte se expandió y el hecho de alejarme más de 3000 km de mi casa ya no me parecía tanto. Estar en la ciudad más al sur de mi país y del mundo es lo más lejos que alguna vez fui y deseaba tanto hacer este viaje que tuve la suerte de poder concretarlo justo en el último minuto. Me alegra mucho pensar en que las circunstancias fueron las adecuadas para que pueda ir a explorar esa hermosa ciudad, porque me encantó desde que llegué hasta el día que me fuí, y si pudiera volver a ir, volvería sin dudarlo porque merece la pena miles de visitas ❤️.

The city of Ushuaia is relatively small and there is no need to travel several kilometers to enjoy beautiful landscapes because they are all within easy reach. In this place everything is close, and a walk as simple as to the Beagle Channel waterfront already gives you some incredible postcards. Of course, there are many other remote places to visit that are worth visiting, but with short walks like this one you can complete your purpose of "doing something touristy" ❣️.

La ciudad de Ushuaia es relativamente pequeña y no hace falta tener que viajar varios kilómetros para tener paisajes hermosos porque todos están ahí al alcance de la mano. En este lugar todo está cerca, y un paseo tan sencillo como a la costanera del canal de Beagle ya te regala unas postales increíbles. Por supuesto, hay muchos otros lugares alejados para ir a visitar que merecen la pena, pero con paseos cortos como este uno puede completar su propósito de "hacer algo turístico" ❣️.

This place has a motto that I love that says "Ushuaia, end of the world, beginning of everything". This city is the starting point or the point of arrival for those travelers looking to make one of the most incredible trips of all: touring America from end to end. The extremes are Alaska and Ushuaia, and these places are distant by more than 28,000 km where you will find the most imposing variety of landscapes you could ever see. Many people have the fact of making this trip as a lifestyle and prepare for it, advancing little by little in the journey that can take several years to complete, depending on the pace and budget of each one 😃.

Este lugar tiene un lema que me encanta que dice "Ushuaia, fin del mundo, principio de todo". Esta ciudad es el punto de partida o el punto de llegada para aquellos viajeros que buscan hacer uno de los viajes más increíbles de todos: recorrer América de punta a punta. Los extremos son Alaska y Ushuaia, y estos lugares están distantes por más de 28.000 km en donde te encontrás con la variedad de paisajes más imponentes que podrías ver. Muchas personas tienen el hecho de hacer este viaje como estilo de vida y se preparan para ello, avanzando poco a poco en el trayecto que les puede tomar varios años en completar, dependiendo del ritmo y del presupuesto de cada uno 😃.

Whether as a starting point for an incredible trip, as a final goal or as the chosen spot for an unforgettable vacation, Ushuaia is quite special and unlike any place I've seen before (and I've seen quite a few). Undoubtedly what makes it even more special is its southern location, which conditions the length of the days and nights throughout the year. For us who come from Buenos Aires, these changes in the daylight hours to which we are accustomed are very curious 😅.

Tanto como punto de partida de un viaje increíble, como meta final o como lugar elegido para unas vacaciones inolvidables, Ushuaia es bastante especial y no se parece a ningún lugar que yo haya visto antes (y eso que ví bastantes). Sin dudas lo que la hace más especial es su locación tan austral, que condiciona la duración de los días y las noches a lo largo del año. Para nosotros que llegamos de Buenos Aires, estos cambios en los horarios con luz del día a los que estamos acostumbrados nos resulta algo muy curioso 😅.

The day I arrived in Ushuaia I was very tired and had to take a nap to recover from having traveled in the early morning on the cheapest flight, but when I woke up at almost 6 PM the day was still quite clear. On a normal spring day in Buenos Aires everything starts to get dark around 7PM, but in Ushuaia I had been told it would be light until almost 11 PM. Of course I had to see this with my own eyes, since back home the latest it gets dark is 9 PM before they make the daylight saving time change 🙃.

El día que llegué a Ushuaia estaba muy cansada y tuve que dormir una siesta para recuperarme de haber viajado por la madrugada en el vuelo más barato, pero cuando me desperté casi a las 6 PM todavía el día estaba bastante claro. En un día normal de primavera en Buenos Aires todo empieza a oscurecer alrededor de las 7PM, pero en Ushuaia me habían dicho que tendría luz hasta casi las 11 PM. Por supuesto que tenía que ver esto con mis propios ojos, ya que en mi casa lo más tarde que oscurece es a las 9 PM antes que hagan el cambio de horario de verano 🙃.

I took advantage of my first day to go shopping for supplies and also to walk around the downtown area. I took most of these pictures after 8 PM and everything was very clear, when I showed the pictures to my family they couldn't believe it. In the south it is very noticeable that in the summer the days are longer and the nights are short. The owners of the hostel I was staying at told me that in summer, it gets dark at 11 PM or more, and that even in the New Year's celebrations it is almost midnight and it is still light. It must be very rare to witness that 😅.

Aproveché mi primer día para ir a comprar provisiones y también para pasear por los alrededores del centro de la ciudad. La mayoría de estas fotos las tomé después de las 8 PM y todo estaba muy claro, cuando les mostraba las fotos a mi familia no lo podían creer. En el sur se nota bien esto de que en verano los días son más largos y las noches cortas. Los dueños del hostel en el que estaba me dijeron que en verano, termina de oscurecer a las 11 PM o más, y que incluso en las celebraciones de año nuevo casi es la medianoche y todavía hay claridad. Debe ser muy raro presenciar eso 😅.

According to my own phone log, this sunset was at 10 PM. It was an amazing thing for me to see this sunset at this time and also very beautiful, because the colors that formed in the sky were wonderful. Just as the sun sets very late, so does the sunrise come very early. According to the locals, the sun rises again around 4 AM, so the night only lasts five hours in summer. My first thought was that if you want to go out to a bar, chances are that you go and it's daytime and maybe you come back and it's daytime, it sounds very strange 😂.

Según el registro de mi propio teléfono, esta puesta de sol fue a las 10 PM. Fue algo increíble para mí ver este atardecer a esta hora y también muy hermoso, porque los colores que se formaron en el cielo eran maravillosos. Así como el sol se pone muy tarde, también el amanecer llega muy temprano. Según los lugareños, el sol vuelve a salir alrededor de las 4 AM, por lo que la noche solo dura cinco horas en verano. Lo primero que pensé es que si querés salir a un bar, lo más probable es que vayas y sea de día y quizás vuelvas y sea de día, suena muy raro 😂.

Just as in summer the days have many hours, in winter the opposite happens in this place. They say that in the middle of the year, it can be 10 AM and it is still a little dark, and the sunset starts around 5 PM. I think that the people who live around here have to get used to manage these hours with so little sunlight. I met people who don't like this and defined the place as "depressing", although I guess everyone will have their own experience 😅.

Así como en varano los días tienen muchas horas, en invierno pasa todo lo contrario en este lugar. Dicen que a mitad del año, pueden ser las 10 AM y todavía esta un poco oscuro, y la puesta del sol empieza alrededor de las 5 PM. Pienso que la gente que vive por acá tiene que acostrumbrarse a manejar estos horarios con tan poca luz del sol. Conocí gente a la que no le gusta esto y definieron el lugar como "deprimente", aunque supongo que cada quien tendrá su propia experiencia 😅.

For me who was on a trip, I was delighted that the day has so many hours of daylight. It was 5 AM and it was already clear as noon: of course I didn't get up at 5 AM to go for a walk, but if I had wanted to I could have. My arrangement with the Ushuaia hostel was to work from 7 AM to 12 PM in exchange for accommodation, so after that, I had almost 12 more hours to go hiking in the mountains. It was an ideal arrangement that allowed me to take advantage of almost all the days I was there and I went all over, everything: my feet got a little tired, but my heart was more than happy ❤️.

Para mí que estaba de viaje, me encantó que el día tenga tantísimas horas de luz. Eran las 5 AM y ya estaba claro como en el mediodía: por supuesto no me levantaba a las 5 AM para ir a caminar, pero si hubiese querido podría haberlo hecho. Mi arreglo con el hostel de Ushuaia consistía en trabajar desde las 7 AM hasta las 12 PM a cambio del alojamiento, por lo que después de eso, tenía casi 12 horas más para irme de paseo por la montaña. Fue un arreglo ideal que me permitió aprovechar casi todos los días que estuve ahí y me recorrí todo, todo: mis pies se cansaron un poco, pero mi corazón quedó más que feliz ❤️.
