Hace un tiempo compré unas semillas de girasol porque siempre había querido tener esas hermosas flores en mi jardín, el proceso del crecimiento de las plantas fue increíble, tuve la oportunidad de ver como se convertía de una semilla a una hermosa planta con un brillante color amarillo, lo disfruté mucho pero no más que tener todas esas plantas adornando mi jardín y llenándolo de vida, lamentablemente los girasoles tienen un tiempo de vida, pero, aun cuando se secan podemos sacar provecho de estos, ya que nos deja muchas semillas que pueden servir tanto para sembrar nuevamente como para su consumo, nunca antes había cosechado semillas de girasol y quise hacerlo por primera vez, así que hoy les comparto como fue, espero que les guste este post, sin más, ¡aquí les muestro!
Some time ago I bought some sunflower seeds because I had always wanted to have those beautiful flowers in my garden, the process of plant growth was incredible, I had the opportunity to see how it turned from a seed to a beautiful plant with a bright yellow color , I enjoyed it a lot but no more than having all those plants adorning my garden and filling it with life, unfortunately sunflowers have a life time, but even when they dry we can take advantage of them, since they leave us many seeds that can be used both to sow again and for consumption, I had never harvested sunflower seeds before and I wanted to do it for the first time, so today I share with you how it went, I hope you like this post, without further ado, ¡here I show you!
El girasol es una de las flores más hermosas de la naturaleza, su periodo de vida es de aproximadamente 4 semanas, sus pétalos comienzan a caer hasta no quedar ninguno, luego la planta se seca y podemos extraer sus semillas.
The sunflower is one of the most beautiful flowers in nature, its lifespan is approximately 4 weeks, its petals begin to fall until there are none left, then the plant dries up and we can extract its seeds.
Una vez que caen todos los pétalos del girasol su centro se comienza a tornar de verde a marrón hasta secarse por completo, durante este proceso las semillas comienzan a brotar del centro de la planta.
Once all the petals of the sunflower fall, its center begins to turn from green to brown until it dries completely, during this process the seeds begin to sprout from the center of the plant.
Una vez que se haya secado todo su centro podemos cortar de la planta y comenzar a extraer las semillas, solo debemos ir abriendo poco a poco para exponer las semillas e ir retirándolas con cuidado.
Once its entire center has dried, we can cut from the plant and begin to extract the seeds, we just have to open little by little to expose the seeds and carefully remove them.
Debemos dejar el centro del girasol completamente vacío, extraemos todas las semillas y las colocamos en una bandeja o podemos extenderlas en una superficie donde debemos dejar que se sequen para poder consumirlas.
We must leave the center of the sunflower completely empty, we extract all the seeds and place them in a tray or we can spread them on a surface where we must let them dry in order to consume them.
Debemos dejar las semillas al sol o en calor por unos días hasta que se hayan secado bien, luego de esto solo debemos romper su exterior y extraer la semilla de su interior, la cual podemos consumir como un fruto seco, es deliciosa y de ella podemos también extraer aceite, pero ese es otro proceso el cual aún no he experimentado, la cosecha de semillas es muy fácil pero es lo último que se hace con la planta por lo tanto es un poco tardado pero vale la pena, esta fue mi experiencia con mi primera cosecha de semillas de girasol y lo mejor es que fueron directo de mi jardín, me gustó mucho tanto hacerlo como compartirlo con ustedes y espero que les haya gustado ver todo este proceso.
We must leave the seeds in the sun or in the heat for a few days until they have dried well, after this we only have to break their exterior and extract the seed from their interior, which we can consume as a dried fruit, it is delicious and from it we can also extract oil, but that is another process which I have not experienced yet, harvesting the seeds is very easy but it is the last thing that is done with the plant so it is a bit time consuming but worth it, this was my experience with my first harvest of sunflower seeds and the best thing is that they came directly from my garden, I really enjoyed doing it and sharing it with you and I hope you liked seeing this whole process.

¿Cuánto tarda en crecer la planta desde sembrada la semilla hasta la cosecha? De verdad felicitaciones, me encantó, es todo un espectáculo ver la cosecha.
Hola amiga, me alegra que te gustara mi post, la verdad es muy bonito poder apreciar todo el proceso, las flores duran poco pero adornan bastante, no recuerdo el tiempo que tardan para ser cosechadas pero deben ser aproximadamente unos 2 meses
